Technology is radically disrupting the way buildings and infrastructure are designed, built, and used. We’re now entering a new age of opportunity for builders, designers and engineers. As physical and digital technology come together to create endless possibilities for designing, building, and operating buildings and infrastructure, it’s never been so important to embrace BIM. To help you harness the opportunities, Autodesk is connecting to the future with tightly connected BIM tools and processes for the lifecycle for buildings and infrastructure. Make the most out of the AEC Collections by watching practical live demonstrations using several applications found in the AEC Collection.

Join us for an event on Explore Infrastructure in the Era of Connection, presented by Steven V. Costa, BIM & Infrastructure Specialist and Director of Technical Services at Microsol Resources. After attending this webinar you will be able to:

  • Manipulate GIS data for use in multiple applications such as Civil 3D, Infraworks, Dynamo and Revit
  • Use Recap Pro to process LIDAR files for use in Civil 3D and Revit
  • Analyze vehicle access on a site by performing vehicle swept path analysis
  • Utilize 3ds Max interactive to experience high-end visualization of an infrastructure project in real-time

About the Presenter:

Steven Costa Steven V. Costa is the Director of Technical Services at Microsol Resources in New York City. He has over eight years of experience in offering building information modeling (BIM) solutions for AEC clients from implementation to training and technical support.

Steven provides training on Autodesk Civil 3D and Navisworks, and provides technical support for the Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite family which include Civil 3D, Map 3D, AutoCAD, 3ds Max Design, Navisworks Manage, and Quantity Takeoff. He specializes in streamlining the collaborative workflow between the Autodesk Building and Infrastructure family of products with a focus on data exchange between Civil 3D and Revit Architecture/Structure.

Prior to working at Microsol Resources, Steven spent six years working on highway and site engineering design projects at Stantec (formerly Vollmer Associates, LLP). He worked extensively with Stantec and various other consultants on the Columbia University Manhattanville project, where he provided his expertise on integrating the proposed site and infrastructure plans into the overall client mandated BIM model as well as aggregating an entire projects worth of data into an interactive model using Autodesk Navisworks. His work on this project, alongside several other Microsol Resources BIM specialists, was showcased as a BIM success story at Autodesk’s One Team Conference. Steven graduated with a Bachelor’s of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.

He has actively participated in the AEC community, presenting at Autodesk University, New York City Revit User’s Group (NYCRUG), and lecturing at a Master’s level graduate course at Villanova University. In his spare time, he designs and maintains the Microsol Resources’ website.
