TechPerspectives Philadelphia 2018

Technology is transforming the way that buildings and infrastructure are designed, constructed and operated. It is helping improve decision making and performance across the buildings and infrastructure lifecycle.

Are you using a new technology or process that impact the future of design and construction industry? In fall of 2018, during the Forum on Architecture & Design, Microsol Resources combined forces with the AIA Philadelphia to present our annual TechPerspectives conference program.

TechPerspectives focussed on the latest innovative applications of technology driving significant change in the design and construction industry. During this event, we presented three panel discussions on Connecting Design & Construction, Robotics in Architecture, and Visualization. We covered how:

  • Virtual reality (VR) and photogrammetry is used for the design and architectural visualizations
  • Connected BIM process helps designers, builders, and owners gain a competitive advantage with greater ability to access, share and make enormous amounts of information useful throughout the lifecycle of buildings and infrastructure.
  • Designers are utilizing parametric modeling tools to realize design intent, manage drawing production and facilitate fabrication.
  • Fabrication modeling can provide a seamless interface between design, fabrication and construction teams.
